Is there a way to have saturday mornings free after Lucy is hired as a maid? I tried the "i need to do paperwork" option but it just skipped to afternoon. The girls in the dorm always talk about being at the lake in the morning and I worry I'm missing some content by being locked in.

You aren't missing anything. The skip option was only added to make play-testing the game easier.
